What is Roojai extended warranty insurance?

It is an additional insurance product to cover car repairs which are not caused by a road accident but by a mechanical breakdown. An extended warranty insurance policy provides coverage for different spare parts of your vehicle that are no longer covered by manufacturer’s warranty and are also not covered by car insurance in most countries.

For example, when you experience a mechanical breakdown such as engine failure or transmission failure that is not caused by a road accident, your extended warranty policy will cover the cost of repairs for these parts. By purchasing extended warranty insurance, you will be able to cover the costs of repair or replacement for these car parts that are not normally protected by car insurance.

What is not covered by extended warranty insurance?

Some people confuse extended warranty insurance with regular auto insurance and to clarify this, extended warranty will not cover any damages that were caused by a car accident. Regular ‘wear and tear’ is also not covered by extended warranty such as car brake pads being worn down after several months of driving. However, if your car brake system failed or the brake caliper failed, these damages would be covered by your mechanical breakdown insurance policy.

Additionally, extended warranty does not cover the following:

  • A modified vehicle, outside the specifications and standards set by the manufacturer and with parts there were added by the car owner.
  • Deteriorated car parts, shock absorbers, wheel bearings, and rubber components
  • Mechanical car noise caused by regular use and deterioration
  • Car repair made by anyone other than the manufacturer or repairs that have not been approved by the manufacturer
  • Regular car maintenance due to usage: odometer, changing car tires, battery, and consumable spare parts such as windshield wipers, air filters, engine oil, including the change of sound and audio system, entertainment equipment, or spare parts that are not specified in the insurance agreement or are not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty
  • Natural deterioration, damage or gnawing caused by animals

What is the waiting period for extended warranty insurance?
