Roojai, in partnership with FWD General Insurance, has launched affordable and easy to buy COVID-19 insurance to help people be safe and worry-free and get back to living their life. Roojai’s COVID-19 protection plan offers two options, with different levels of coverage depending on the customer needs and budget.
Nicolas Faquet, Roojai’s Chief Executive Officer and Founder, said: “As the country moves towards recovery it’s important that people are able to focus on getting their life back on track, but at the same time, the pandemic is not over, and new variants may appear. With that in mind, we have redesigned our COVID-19 insurance plans in collaboration with FWD to give protection to those who become infected, and also anyone who experiences any complications after being vaccinated.”
What’s new in this coverage plan
The new plans cover medical expenses in the event a patient is hospitalized due to COVID-19 as well as side effects from COVID-19 vaccination that are registered with the Food and Drug Administration of the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand. Side effects are covered up to 90 days after each vaccination.
Patients who go into a coma as a result of COVID-19 or a related vaccine will receive THB 100,000 – THB 200,000, depending on their plan medical expenses range from up to THB 5,000 to up to THB 30,000.
Roojai’s COVID-19 protection plans are available to people up to 60 years old, and non-Thais can also apply for the plans if they have been residing in Thailand for at least 6 consecutive months prior to the policy effective date and have a work permit or a valid VISA.
Plan 1: Premium THB 750/person/year
Sum insured:
- Lump sum compensation in case of coma caused by COVID-19: coverage THB 100,000
- Medical expenses while hospitalized due to COVID-19: up to THB 5,000
- Lump sum compensation in case of coma caused by COVID-19 vaccination: coverage THB 100,000
- Medical expenses while hospitalized due to COVID-19 vaccination complications: up top THB 15,000
- Daily cash while hospitalized because of COVID-19 vaccination complications
- Normal room (per day): THB 500
- ICU room (per day): THB 1,000
- Complementary personal accident coverage for permanent disability, loss of organs, loss of sight and death: up to THB 50,000
Plan 2: Premium THB 1,500/person/year
Sum insured:
- Lump sum compensation in case of coma caused by COVID-19: coverage THB 200,000
- Medical expenses while hospitalized due to COVID-19: up to THB 10,000
- Lump sum compensation in case of coma caused by COVID-19 vaccination: coverage THB 200,000
- Medical expenses while hospitalized due to COVID-19 vaccination complications: up top THB 30,000
- Daily cash while hospitalized because of COVID-19 vaccination complications
- Normal room (per day): THB 1,000
- ICU room (per day): THB 2,000
